In Alissa Nutting’s novel Tampa, Celeste Price, a smoldering 26-year-old middle-school teacher in Florida, unrepentantly recounts her elaborate and sociopathically determined seduction of a 14-year-old student. My point is, I think critics tend to exaggerate the sexuality in anything written by women. This is the photo used on a Guardian article that discusses Nutting's book about how pedophilia is bad, it's an extremely weird choice to run with considering the subject matter and treatment of the novel overall. So, the way women are characterised as authors is weird. To be fair, that might be a critical response thing.
